Filling these refillable cartridges is extremely simple: remove the plug, inject ink, and replace the plug.
The cartridges are the same size as the original Brother cartridges. They can fit up to 20ml of black ink or 13ml of color ink.
This cartridge set requires that you install the chips from a set of four original Brother cartridges.
When using original chips, the printer will not display accurate ink levels. However, the printer will never stop you from printing thanks to its physical ink sensor. As long as the printer "sees" that there is in fact ink in the cartridges, you will be able to print. In any case, since the cartridges are translucent, you can always know exactly how much ink you have left inside.
NOTE: These refillable cartridges come empty, so you will also need to purchase an InkOwl inkjet refill kit.
